However, unlike when you work directly with an agent representing the company itself, quotes provided were not the actual price we received when he submitted info directly to the insurance companies to sign up. Even thought the total rates are lower than our current payments - having to pay higher than what one is quoted never feels great and in fact almost lost the deal as it was very triggering for my spouse who wanted to cancel immediately. Also, having to cancel the old insurance is kinda a pain. While I can't sign up for Openly online - I could with progressive and I would have received a lower rate with their online discount and they would have automatically cancelled our current auto insurance for us. It would definitely increase customer service if cancellation were included! When we switched to farmers - the farmers agent handled the cancellation for us as well - it just made it a whole lot easier to switch! Perhaps that service will be added in the future!
