Present your business plan to your agency manager, who will provide valuable insights and guidance to help you execute your vision effectively.

  4. Contract-Signing Process: After a successful Discovery Day, you will collaborate closely with your designated territory manager. Together, you'll navigate the contract-signing phase, cementing your commitment to the franchise. Our team will ensure this process is smooth and transparent, setting the stage for your future success.

• How much is the franchise fee, and what does it cover?

  The Goosehead franchise fee typically costs $50,000*, depending on the state you choose to set up your agency. Talk to our team to get a precise amount for your agency location.
  The franchise fee is an upfront payment made by a franchisee for the rights to operate a business under Goosehead's established brand and system. This fee grants the franchisee access to Goosehead's proprietary systems, brand recognition, training programs, and ongoing support.

• How much is the total initial investment?

  When considering a Goosehead franchise, the total initial investment ranges from $66,000-$111,500*. This estimate includes expenditure types such as the Franchise Fee, lease improvements, rent, signage and media, office equipment, insurance, licenses, professional fees, training expenses, and start-up expenses during your first three months of operation. That would include out-of-pocket expenses, like payroll taxes and expenses, royalty and other fees collected by us, rent, repairs and maintenance, advertising and marketing expenses, bank charges, state taxes, depreciation/amortization, and other miscellaneous items.

  Goosehead pays agencies once per month the commissions that Goosehead receives from policies that the agencies have written.

• Do I need to have prior insurance experience?

  No, you do not need prior insurance expertise to open a Goosehead agency. Goosehead helps you get licensed by providing resources and guidance. We have a robust training program as well as our dedicated back-office teams ready to help you successfully launch your agency.

  Yes, we have a mandatory two-week training program that begins once licensing and onboarding are completed. It’s a hands-on, progressive program using real leads to learn the Goosehead sales process and carrier systems.

  You can open your Goosehead agency and start selling after you attend and pass our initial two-week training program.

  While Goosehead does not choose or find office locations for new owners, we offer support through our detailed location vetting process. This process is designed to ensure that your chosen location meets both Goosehead and carrier partner brand standards. Our team is here to assist you every step of the way, helping you evaluate and vet potential office spaces.

• How involved do I need to be as an owner?

  Goosehead expects all franchise owners to follow the Owner/Operator agency model to ensure that all our owners are solely focused on growing their business.

• Do I hire my own staff and how many do I need?

  Yes, as a business owner, you have the freedom to hire your own staff. Goosehead offers resources and assistance to help you find the right talent for your agency if you need help. We recommend that you take the first year to solely focus on growing your book of business before thinking about hiring staff.

• What products will I be able to sell?

  Goosehead offers a wide range of products for our agents and clients. Product options vary on region, but you can see a full list of Goosehead’s products here.

• Do you offer commercial options?

  Yes, Goosehead agents can insure commercial risks. However, the primary goal is to become the largest distributor of personal lines insurance, with a strong focus on Home and Auto insurance. While we do provide a life and commercial portfolio, this is subject to specific qualification metrics. Our experienced team can help guide you through our options, tailored to your interests and specific geographical areas.
